June hols is already running into its second week. How is everyone doing?
For the Queklings, it’s basically a lot of staying at home because… the kids contracted HFMD one after another! Can you imagine my disappointment? I have planned so many activities for the kids, lots of outdoor programmes and made appointment with fellow moms to hang out but in the end…
We had started our holiday adventures on Friday, after we met the kindy teachers for a short meeting. Headed to the National Museum and had such a wonderful time. I realised kids have the most fun when they are in the company of their good friends. Alas, our adventure was short-lived because Dan was found to have spots on his palms and feet the following day. Sent him to the GP and it’s the dreaded HFMD! Arghhhhh…
Thankfully, his condition was mild and there were no ulcers on his throat. The in-laws stepped up and helped to look after him while I tried to go out with the girl for our various activities.
Art class | Board Game Night | Baking blueberries muffins together | Attending birthday party | The usual homelearning activities
On one of those days, I brought Faith down to Mary Kay (SG) office, to see how a skincare class is conducted. I thought she would be bored but she kept herself entertained and even had some fun with one of the ladies, taking wefie!
So after a week of confining the boy at home, we thought we could head out soon after. Little did we realise that the girl was found to have spots on her palms and feet and ulcers in her mouth.
This mama here needs the outdoors a lot and would love to have more social interaction. On top of that, we are to go for our church camp soon and with her getting HFMD, we got a bit panicky.
And we prayed. Real hard. Prayed that Faith would recover soon and that the adults won’t get it.
So for the second week, it was really more staying at home. Bleh.
And by Day 5, Faith’s symptoms have gone, miraculously. We went outdoors, basking in nature’s vitamin D but the highlight had to be us delivering Mary Kay products to my friends who ordered this month’s promo.
Joyride + ice-cream = fun!
I think we should be good to go on our adventures soon. Please stay healthy, everyone!
