Hook on Books

Today is one of those days that none of the adults have any commitments so it’s family time!

We finally made it here – Hooks on Books! I remember one Dayre mom recommended this place. The last time we were here, we didn’t check the opening hours and of all days, we chose the one when it’s closed. 😂

I ❤ this place! Didn’t know it’s opened by the founder of Berries. To be honest, the selection of the books isn’t a lot but I suspect they are specially selected based on the quality and interest of the kids. It’s a small place but somehow I feel at home. Could it be the interior design? Could it be the friendly staff or could it simply be because it’s the language that I grew up with which made me so comfortable?

The boy was fascinated with this phone. And I was thrilled to find Chinese audiobooks here. Of course #buybuybuy

The kids weren’t as interested as I was, much to my disappointment. They were all over the place until I was fed up and asked the hubs to bring them out to have some bites while I browsed the audiobooks and CDs.

See… hungry little people.

Stayed on to do some craft.

This boy was climbing up and down, up and down, and in the end, the tray of materials became sensory play to him. 😅

So happy to be able to dig into the various materials.

Finally got him to sit down and read some books. I think it’s because it’s Chinese book. He couldn’t sit for long.

Binding the notebook.

The food’s not bad lah.

Because we spent a fair bit on… audiobooks mainly, we got free cups of ice-cream, much to the delight of the kids.

Till we meet again!

Since we are round the corner, we checked into our usual Japanese restaurant…

I’m actually here, mainly for the pork cheeks.

Watching the boats pass by before both crashed.

We had wanted to go swimming but the sky seemed overcast so we headed for Decathlon in the end.
The girl was protecting the boy because this area was very crowded. Awwwww…

I didn’t know decathlon at Chai Chee and the surrounding area are so happening! If you ever come to this place, do try the yong tau foo here. Recommended by Trisa, the foodie.

Good. I don’t normally drink the soup when I dine out. But this one is good. Can tell it’s good stuff.

The chicken wings babes…

So tempted to do grocery but I’m so tired already…
