Six weeks into term 4. How is everyone doing? For us, with a change of school for the boy means a huge change in schedule for the three of us. Suddenly, we have a lot of time in the morning and more importantly, we don’t have to rush.
Life seems to be at an ideal state for the first time in many (ok, just these few) years. I’ve sufficient time with the kids and that means I could coach them in their work and we could have time pursuing what we like to do and the siblings could have ample time playing and interacting with each other. While both of them are in school which means I’ve two hours of break, I could concentrate on my freelance work or meet up with some folks for ministry work.
Sadly, the boy still didn’t like the new school. In his prayer, “God, I don’t like to go to school but…. it’s ok.”
My heart sank. His Art teacher told me the same story too. Apparently, he has been sharing his heart out to his favourite teacher.
Otherwise, things are going pretty well. I’ve less problems with the girl possibly because her emotional needs are met and I don’t have to rush her anymore. I could also parent from a state of rest which is what I’ve intended to do since the beginning of the year. Once a week, we try to have a field trip day and the kids would be super happy to get out and explore. Things are slowly falling into place and we are enjoying one another’s presence more.
A few more weeks before the academic year comes to a close. Can’t wait!
