[Review & Giveaway]

The other day, Cindy from TheHootingPost messaged me and asked if I would be interested in a baking session with the girl. It’s a definite yes since both of us like baking. We later realised that it’s Piggy Pineapple Tarts that we would be baking. YES!

Situated in Serangoon Garden Way and right above Bakers and Cook, Little Bakers Lab is a cosy space with a communal table for the participants to do their baking. I was won over by the sweet decor and clean environment. Pastel anything and a pink KitchenAid standmixer! What’s not to love? ๐Ÿ˜

The lady boss cum instructor, a mom herself, came over and chatted with the girl, putting little one at ease.

We set off to work! Following the recipe provided for us, we measured the ingredients and carried out the steps with guidance from the instructor. We had to make the dough first and the girl had a taste of what rubbing-in (method) was.

While waiting for the dough to chill, we got to pipe the cupcakes that had been baked for us. The girl was overjoyed because she was hungry, so she said.

The work started again. Faith measured individual balls of dough which would be used to wrap the pineapple filling. I love her focus here. It’s a joy to see her working so hard for the pineapple tarts. ๐Ÿ˜

We had a wonderful time baking the Piggy Pineapple Tarts with the other moms and their kids. It was a relaxed session and the pace is just nice. I thought it was a good bonding session with the girl and I don’t have to worry about the mess and the washing up. Heh…

Would you like to bake the Piggy Pineapple Tarts with your child? Little Bakers Lab is giving away ONE parent-and-child the opportunity to have fun baking those adorable and yummy tarts. The giveaway will be conducted on my Instagram account so hop over there and take part if you like.

The giveaway will end on 15 January 2359 hours. All the best!

If you can’t wait to take part in the giveaway and want to just attend the baking session, the following shows the dates and time of the workshop.

Thank you Little Bakers Lab for inviting the girl and I for this baking session! We thoroughly enjoy it!

Hello Week 0, Goodbye!

So week 0 has passed and while the girl seemed to enjoy herself, Iโ€™ve my worries.

I can feel that the hours spent with her are much shorter now and it could only get shorter as the years go by. By the time she goes to Secondary school, I probably will only see her in the evening.

Spending quality time and maintaining close relationship with her suddenly becomes a priority. Iโ€™m aware that Iโ€™m fighting against the worldโ€™s influence on her because in a way, many things are not within my control.

Her choice of friends in school, the behaviour she observes and chooses to adopt, the food she chooses to buy from the canteen….

Before long, she would choose not to speak to us about her deepest thoughts.

It will happen very soon.

So again, the early years are important and hopefully what we have imparted to her, values and what not, will take root.

Of course we will have to continue to walk with her. The challenges we are going to face will be different.

God is in control. I must remember that.

These siblings have not much time to interact with each other too, with them being in different sessions… again. Oh well.
