[Review] Canon Rayo S1 Projector

A projector on your palm. How cool is that? With the advancement of technology, it shouldn’t surprise us that a projector can turn palm-sized. But I admit I was awed when I first saw it at the Canon Christmas Party last year.

To give you a better idea, the following is the Rayo S1 Projector in Faith’ hands. It’s definitely not the big machine that we think of when a projector is mentioned. You can definitely put this in your handbag or even in a pocket! It’s light at 240g and offers 854 x 480 (WVGA) screen pixel resolution.

So I asked for a loan for the Rayo S1 projector, to try out its capabilities. I thought it would be a good tool to have when we have meetings or gatherings and when the room doesn’t have a TV. Comes in useful especially when we need to project something on the screen.

When we have gatherings such as the above, when kids come together, the projector comes in really handy. We streamed movies via our mobile phone and project it on the wall. The quality of the sound was rather clear and crisp. Not bad for such a small machine. It’s quite powerful, I must say.

Besides a projector, one can also tap on the 4GB memory to preload music, videos and presentation on the device for maximum efficiency. It is designed with a smart touch pad to enable us to navigate through all the functions of the RAYO S1 all with a simple touch.
