Foodie Fridays | Sinpopo Brand

Anyone knows what Sinpopo Brand is?

A search on the Internet reveals that it used to be the name of a notorious nightclub along Tanjong Katong Road but now, it is an eatery along Joo Chiat Road. What makes this eatery stands out (in my opinion) are its decor which evokes memories of yesteryear and the old Chinese songs that my parents could identify with.

You make your orders here but look, the clock and the calendar!

The menu comprises local delicacies such as chicken curry, nasi lemak, ngoh hiang and the like. I wish to give stellar review about the food but I find them too salty for my liking. Having said that, I do like their drinks and desserts.

My sister and I went back the second time, the latter to bring my parents to enjoy the songs that they so like. Oh yes, kids get a bowl of biscuits, compliments of Sinpopo Brand!

My conclusion: Even if the food is lackluster and non too outstanding, go for the ambience and some singing good times. Your folks will thank you for that.
